Sigma Tau Gamma is a national college fraternity founded in 1920 by veterans of the First World War at the University of Central Missouri. Founded as a society of men who endeavor to promote the highest ideals of manhood, brotherhood and citizenship, its members dedicate themselves to a set of six Principles: Learning, Integrity, Excellence, Leadership, Citizenship, and Brotherhood. Today, more th

an 75,000 men have been initiated into the Fraternity at 135 chapters. UW-Platteville Sigma Tau Gamma or the Gamma Xi Chapter was originally founded in 1966 as a local fraternity called Phi Alpha Psi. Phi Alpha Psi soon joined the National Fraternity of Sigma Tau Gamma in 1969.
