Dr. Doug Adams enjoyed riding the muddy trails of Blue Mounds State Park this summer with his brother and sister-in-law. He said it was a blast, just like his classes! Dr. Adams is ready to roll into the new semester.

Dr. Leigh Monhardt had a busy summer spending time with his grandson, restoring furniture, and building a cat-dominium. He still has three kittens that need a home. Dr. Leigh will see you in class to discuss all your cat needs!

Academic Advisor Liz Runde toured Crystal Cave in Spring Valley, enjoyed shopping time in Red Wing, MN, and toured the Taliesin Preservation at the Frank Lloyd Wright Center. Liz also got lots of snuggle time with this cute pup!

Dr. Lindsay Hollingsworth traveled to Winter Park, Colorado with her family this summer and hiked 21 miles of high elevation trails. She's back on campus now and ready for a great year!

The SoE welcomes Jessica Kluck to the department! As an assistant professor, Jessica will be teaching Math 1 and Math 2. Prior to coming to UW-Platteville, Jessica taught math at her alma mater, Dubuque Senior High School. She has a B.A. in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Clarke University, an M.S.E. in Theory and Practice from Arkansas State University and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northern Iowa. Jessica is excited to work with pre-service teachers. "Seeing students' perspectives shift as they begin to enjoy the math they are doing is what I am most excited about!"
Outside of school, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and loves running. Welcome, Jessica!

New year, new face! Welcome Tracy Graney as the new department assistant for the School of Education. Tracy came to UW-Platteville as the medical program assistant for Student Health Services in January 2020. Tracy said she hopes to provide the necessary support to all faculty and staff effectively and efficiently. She enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends. Welcome, Tracy!

The SoE hosted area administrators and others, including State Representative Travis Tranel, to campus for an annual Advisory Board meeting. Director Tim Buttles shared SoE highlights and initiatives while attendees had an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback and suggestions about the education program at UW-Platteville.
