The streak is over...kind of. For the 1st time in 24 meetings, the Lakeland men's soccer team didn't lose to Dominican. The Muskies didn't win either 🤷‍♂️ in a scoreless tie with the Stars, BUT with the tie the Fish have wrapped up a spot in the NACC Tournament for the first time in 17 years!
Muskies clinch NACC tourney spot after playing Stars to scoreless draw
PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Lakeland University men’s soccer team snapped a streak against Dominican University-kind of, but it was still good enough to get the Muskies an important point in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference standings with a 0-0 tie Saturday afternoon at John Taylor Memorial Field.
For the first time in 24 meetings with Dominican, Lakeland was not on the losing end, earning a tie with the Stars after 23 straight losses in the series. The draw puts the Muskies at 5-2-3 in NACC play this season, and the point for the tie in the conference standings is an important one.
With 18 points from its five wins and three ties, Lakeland clinched a berth in the NACC Tournament, its first NACC Tournament berth since 2009. The Muskies also are in position where wins in their final two conference games would give them an excellent chance to lock up at least the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament, and the program’s first-ever home game in the NACC tourney.
