Our program was donated a 1964 Piper. This aircraft actually has a personal connection to our program already. Our students worked on it several times many years ago during live-work projects, and one of our own instructors, Barry Everett Jr., painted it back in 2004 as a brand-new A&P mechanic. Having it return to us now and become part of our fleet feels like it's come full circle, and it's a gift that will shape the training and careers of our students for years to come. We're deeply grateful to the donor for making that possible.
The Piper arrived in flyable condition but with a little hangar dust on it. Here our first-year students are performing their first program task on the new Piper, an aircraft wash.
