: From first-generation college graduate to MBA student, HR professional and business owner, Bronco Heidi Sauceda is continuing to build on the foundation she started at Cal Poly Pomona.

Heidi earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources in 2020 and returned to CPP to pursue her MBA, which she plans to complete in 2027.

Today, she balances graduate school with her career as a Senior HR Specialist, motherhood and running Sip & Grind, the mobile coffee business she built from an idea that started in her own kitchen.

For Heidi, continuing her education is also deeply personal.

“Pursuing my MBA now is another way of honoring my parents’ sacrifices while showing my children that they can achieve anything they work for.”

🌎 From Washington, D.C. to Brussels, Berlin and Aspen, MBA candidate Omar Gonzales (MBA ’27) spent his summer learning what leadership looks like across business, government and democracy.

Selected for both the Atlantik-Brücke New Bridge Program and the Aspen Ideas Festival Fellows Program, Omar joined conversations with leaders and thinkers from around the world while representing Cal Poly Pomona and the CSU.

Along the way, he discovered just how much of his Bronco MBA education traveled with him.

Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Business Administration proudly hosted the inaugural LaFamilia Management Scholars & Allies Conference, bringing together deans, faculty, students and industry leaders from across the country for two days of conversations focused on Latine representation and success in business education.

With the theme “Latinos and Latinas in Business Schools: Challenging Invisibility,” the conference explored ways to strengthen student success, support faculty development and expand leadership pathways for the next generation of business scholars and professionals.

For CPP students in attendance, it was also an opportunity to connect with leaders, hear their stories and see what their own futures could look like.
