Support our apiary program by stopping by the pop-up store!

The store sells honey, handmade candles, soaps, lip balms, salves, and more. Students make these products as part of the Bee Science Education Program.

The pop-up store will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside Building 2 on the following dates:
* Tuesday, Sept. 22
* Tuesday, Oct. 27
* Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Are you a student who wants to find out more about the apiary program? You can learn how to make products in a one-unit class in PLT 4620A, the apiary capstone course.

The course meets on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 to 11:50 a.m.

Are you looking for another course to take? Want to learn how to grow fruits and vegetables while also helping your fellow students?

Register for RS 4990/4990L: Farm to Pantry. You'll learn how to cultivate your own produce garden, from planning to planting and harvesting.

All produce harvested in this course will go toward stocking ASI's Poly Pantry.

Our thanks to the representatives of the who visited us on Thursday!

They saw some of the flowers that we are growing at for the , visited the vertical farm run by (where they got to sample some carrots!), shopped at and had lunch at .

Congratulations to Huntley College student-athletes Chloe Alchin, Alondra Arias, and Ricardo Vargas!

The trio was selected last week for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country Teams. The program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and the classroom.

Alchin is an animal science (pre-vet) major who plans to attend veterinary school.

Arias is also an animal science major who wants to work as a food inspector for the USDA or FDA.

Vargas is a nutrition (dietetics) major who plans to become a registered dietitian.

We mourn the loss of Don B. Huntley, one of our very own alumni who became a successful pistachio farmer.

He generously gave back to Cal Poly Pomona. Ten years ago, he pledged to give the college his pistachio farm after his passing. In response, the California State University Board of Trustees approved naming the college after him.

We thank you, Don, for your decades of support. We will not forget you.

The spring semester and Commencement may be over, but our work is never done!

Our students, faculty, and staff are hard at work at the LA County Fair this month, running the petting farm; giving presentations about animals, bees, native plants, and soil science; and telling stories and answering questions about farming.

Come see us in the Red and Green Barns! Don't forget: Cal Poly Pomona Day at the Fair is Monday! The Bronco Pep Band is scheduled to perform at the Big Red Barn at 3 p.m.

The fair runs through May 31. For tickets and more information, see the link in our bio.
