Congratulations to Dr. S. Terri Gomez on her appointment as the next President of California State University, San Bernardino! 🎉

A proud member of the CEIS family, Dr. Gomez has made a lasting impact at Cal Poly Pomona through her dedication to students and higher education. She served as a professor in the Department of Ethnic and Women’s Studies, Interim Associate Dean in the College of Education and Integrative Studies (CEIS), and later as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Throughout her career, she has championed student success, equity, and academic excellence while inspiring generations of Broncos.

The CEIS community congratulates Dr. Gomez on this well-deserved achievement and wishes her continued success as she begins this exciting new chapter leading California State University, San Bernardino. Once a CEIS Bronco, always a CEIS Bronco. 💚💛

✨ Honoring Juneteenth at Cal Poly Pomona ✨

The CPP community recently came together to celebrate Juneteenth and reaffirm our commitment to fostering belonging, opportunity, and community for Black students and the broader campus.

The celebration featured inspiring guest speakers, including CEIS Afrofuturism Faculty Mentor Dr. Karen D’Andre Harris Tyrrell ‘24, reflections on the history and significance of Juneteenth, meaningful conversations, and a shared meal rooted in tradition.

Attendees enjoyed soul food dishes such as red beans and rice, collard greens, cornbread, and banana pudding—all family recipes contributed by CPP faculty and staff and compiled into a digital *Juneteenth Cookbook*.

The gathering built on the momentum of the CSU Juneteenth Symposium held the previous week, creating additional space for learning, reflection, and community connection.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on April 14th & 16th at the University Quad for two amazing days of creativity, learning, and community 💛.

From Tasty Tuesday to Artsy Thursday, our student-led stations brought so much joy, whether you were planting seeds 🌱, making friendship bracelets 🎨, exploring music 🎶, or learning about healthy habits 🍎.

A special shoutout to our incredible ECS students with support of ECS Department for organizing and leading such meaningful, hands-on experiences for our campus community 👏.
