Serving the Greater Pontiac Michigan community since 1983 while "Building on the Principles of Zeta While Blazing New Paths"! Aldridge, Edna Metoyer, Dorothy F.

The Lambda Rho Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., was organized and chartered through the tireless efforts of five Zetas residing in Pontiac, Michigan: Sorors Willie B. King, Yvonne M. Robinson, and Brenda M. Street. On January 22, 1983, Lambda Rho Zeta Chapter of Pontiac officially joined the other graduate chapters of Michigan located in Detroit, Flint, Highland Park, Inkster, Kalamazoo, and Saginaw.

Today, the five Charter Members have been joined by over forty (40) more ladies under Zeta’s umbrella. In 1986, the chapter chartered an auxiliary youth group, the Archonettes, ages 14-18; and also chartered the adult auxiliary group, the Amicae, (Friends of Zeta).

In 1987, Lambda Rho Zeta established the Pontiac Archonian Club and initiated its first group of undergraduate sorors into the Nu Nu chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

The Lambda Rho Zeta Chapter continues, with their support, to hold high the lamp of the organizations to illuminate Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood.

Every year, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated stands in solidarity to strengthen our commitment to ending domestic violence and supporting those affected by it.

Domestic violence affects people from all walks of life, and it’s our duty to break the silence, raise awareness, and offer our unwavering support. Let’s continue the conversation, educate ourselves and others, and work towards creating a world where everyone can live free from fear and violence.

Together, we will make a difference and empower every individual to find strength and healing.

Did you know? Nearly 300,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and 1 in 8 women in America will face it in their lifetime. While progress has been made, awareness alone isn’t enough.

For black and brown communities especially, the fight is even harder - resources and research haven’t always represented us. But Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is working to change that.

Mental Health is not a sign of weakness, but a testament to our strength and resilience. World Mental Health Day is our way of recognizing and understanding that caring for our mental health and emotional well-being is just as crucial as our physical health.

Today, be intentional about checking on your loved ones - including your friends.

There’s not a certain ‘look’ - Just be kind. Encourage open conversations. Lend a listening ear, offer a hug or give someone a word of support, as they may be struggling in silence. If that someone is you - remember that you are never alone on this journey.
