Happy New Year from the Sisters of Alpha Delta Kappa. We hope you all have a wonderful day of celebration no matter how you celebrate.

We do thank each and every one of you that has reached out to support our sisterhood. The case is ongoing, therefore we can not provide any new information. We hope to have news to share within the next few weeks.

While we respect the opinions of others, we do not condone name calling or bullying on our page, therefore any comments that are antagonistic will be deleted. We are a sisterhood who has a high level of respect for the University and the individuals who have taken the time to review our case. We do not want jeopardize the positive gains we have made in this process by allowing such forms of negativity.

To the Campus, Community, Faculty, and Administrators, For years there has been a problem with the Office of Student Conduct’s practices at SUNY Potsdam. Our sisterhood would like to thank each and everyone of you for the support you have shown us. Your letters, e-mails, and phone calls are making a difference! Please continue to show your support and make Potsdam Officials aware of the injustice that our organization, along with many other students, has faced under the supervision of SUNY Administration.

You may also join the pledge to no longer donate to Potsdam until a change has been made within the administration and Alpha is recolonized.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to support our sisterhood. You are all demonstrating what is so truly unique to the Potsdam Greek Community and for that, we are eternally grateful.

At this time Alpha is in the process of appealing the hearing board's decision. We will follow the appropriate channels and respect that there is a process in place that must be followed.

In regards to what we were charged with "Failure to Cooperate"- we were accused of taking in new members and acting as a sorority during a time when we were unrecognized. 2 anonymous witnesses formed the basis for these charges and despite providing evidence to the contrary, we were found guilty.

Alpha was slated to begin rush events in Fall 2015 and even worked in cooperation with the Greek Affairs office and Sheard Literacy Center on a 5k benefiting the Literacy Center in April 2015.

It was shortly after the announcement that we were returning and planning this fundraiser that anonymous members of the Greek community went to the school with their claims. Our understanding is that this occurred in March yet charges were not issued until May, the week before finals, and the futures of our affiliate members were threatened by suspension and an inability to take finals, meaning they would have to return for one more semester and retake all classes from that semester or expulsion.

As an organization, the well being and futures of our members is most important. Our goal was to ensure these ladies graduated on time and without disciplinary notations on their transcripts. After, we focused on the organization's future.

Anyone who has ever done a home improvement project understands that once you get started, some drama always ensues. As we were planning the projects for work week, we had anticipated being able to repair and re-use the existing base cabinets in the kitchen that would have to be removed in order to replace the rotted sub floor. However, once they were removed Michelle found so much mold, rot and f***s in them that there was no way that they could be salvaged. There wasn't really a choice so new base cabinets had to be purchased. The cabinets, screws, shims and accessories totaled $1300. And now we need a dumpster to dispose of all the old cabinets and flooring.

We also thought that the stove could have been repaired but it was also toast. One Alum has donated a brand new stove to get us up and running since there was no way we could have people renting and not have a way for them to cook. But there should be another one installed as well.

ADKAA E-Board appreciates all of the Alumnae who have stepped up in the past few months to financially contribute to this work week and to the requests that have been made. However we are putting out the call once again especially to the Alumnae that have been on the fence about contributing. As you can see by the pictures posted this week, and we aren't done yet ;) your money is truly going to a good cause and being used for appropriate repairs to maintain our legacy.

Online payments can be made at: https://alphadeltakappaalumnae.wazala.com/…/alumnae-dues-a…/

Checks can be made out to ADKAA and sent to Michelle Dillon Tolar at 3429 Pecan Circle, Bedford TX 76021
