It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Shelia Marshall, former Director for the Center for Diversity. Throughout her time at SUNY Potsdam Sheila helped and mentored many students, myself included, and was a bright smiling face to anyone who stopped by.
During my time as a student, Sheila sat me down and said "why is it I don't see you around?" She listened to me for an hour and a half about not feeling like I belonged in the center and the overall identity crisis I struggled with. She made Potsdam feel more like a home to me.
She will be greatly missed.
