After the fourth contest / game, we'll determine who advances to the Marist Red Fox Skills Challenge Final Four in each division / contest prior to the 3/1 game.
Prizes are TBD
Given we expect many kids from town, rec, AAU, CYO and other youth basketball organizations to attend these games, please arrive promptly to register / compete in the contests.
K-2nd Grade Dribble Knockout will have multiple rounds to determine the winner.
The 3-point contest will have 5 ball racks of 5 balls modeled after the NBA 3-point contest with 1 point per basket made except for the last ball in each rack, the money ball which is worth 2 points. Kids will have 1 minute 30 seconds for this contest.
Hot shots is a shooting competition where players try to score as many points as possible in 1 minute by shooting from different designated spots on the court.
In the free throw contest, you'll have 10 attempts to post a score.
Knockout is where 10 players in each half court in the McCann Arena at halftime line up and take turns shooting free throws, trying to score before the player in front of them. The last player standing on each half court wins, after which the final two compete to determine the winner.
Any ties in any divisional contest will require a second round to determine the winner, so if a player is in contention, please be sure to remain in the gym until the end of each contest.
The goal is for the contests to start at 5 PM and end by 6:30 PM so that you can enjoy time with your families and friends before the game.
Please share this post with your friends and family. The Marist Red Fox Club looks forward to hosting this season-long competition for the kids!
