Northern Maine Community College Providing education that leads to a more fulfilling life and success for our graduates.

Northern Maine Community College was established in 1961, and the first class entered the college in 1963. Today, NMCC impacts over 2,000 students annually through various programs. Located in Skyway Industrial Park, Northern Maine Community College is a fully-accredited two year college offering 29 associated degree and certificate level programs. These programs are designed to enable students to enter the workforce with technically current skills and also to prepare graduates for life-long learning and upward mobility. Programs are offered through the College’s four departments: arts & sciences, business technology, nursing & allied health, and trade & technical occupations. In addition to career programs, the College offers an associate in arts degree in liberal studies, an economical starting point for students who may desire to transfer to a four-year institution. NMCC also offers a wide range of non-credit courses and provides customized training for area business/industry.

Earlier this week we spent some time in our Automotive Collision Repair, Automotive Technology, and Building Construction labs, and our students were hard at work.

These programs are hands-on from day one. Students learn by doing, with real tools, real projects, and instructors who know the trades.

If you or someone in your household is thinking about a future at NMCC, now is a great time to start planning. Come take a tour, see the labs in person, and ask us questions. We'll walk you through every step, from applying to financial aid.

👏 Meet Brian Hall!

We’re proud to celebrate Brian, NMCC’s Director of Financial Aid, who was recently featured by the Maine Community College System as one of the outstanding employees making a difference across Maine’s community colleges.

Brian brings a positive attitude, persistence, and a genuine commitment to helping others to everything he does. Whether he’s helping students navigate financial aid, troubleshooting complex systems, or sharing his knowledge with colleagues across the Maine Community College System, Brian is always looking for solutions and ways to help others succeed.

But perhaps what matters most is why Brian does what he does.

“Helping students find ways to afford a quality education at NMCC has been incredibly fulfilling,” Brian shared. “During my time here, I’ve watched thousands of students transform into confident professionals who go on to strengthen our community.”

Thank you, Brian, for all you do for our students, our college, and your colleagues across Maine. We’re fortunate to have you on the NMCC team!

Today, our Trades faculty, along with our Director of Residential Life, flexed their BBQ skills and fed a record crowd at their free community Fall Feast! 🍂🔥

The menu featured pulled pork and all the delicious fixings, and there are even whispers that a few folks were up in the middle of the night getting everything ready for us to enjoy today. Now that is dedication!

It was a beautiful fall day, and students, staff, and faculty alike enjoyed the chance to come together, soak up the sunny weather, share some laughs, and, of course, enjoy some delicious food.

A big thank-you to everyone who put in the time and effort to make today’s feast such a success. What a wonderful way to celebrate our campus community! 🍁❤️

New equipment is helping NMCC Auto Collision Repair students prepare for today’s workforce!

With financial support from MMG Insurance and the Northern Maine Community College Foundation, the program has added a new resistance spot welder.

The equipment replicates factory spot welds and gives students experience with repair techniques widely used in the collision repair industry.

A special thank you to MMG Insurance for being a valued partner and supporter of NMCC. Your investment in hands-on education helps our students develop the skills they need while strengthening the workforce available to employers throughout our region.

Northern Maine Community College’s Early Childhood Education associate degree program has earned national accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)!

NMCC was one of only six institutions nationwide to receive first-time accreditation during the summer 2026 review. This seven-year accreditation recognizes the program’s commitment to preparing skilled early childhood educators to serve children, families and communities throughout northern Maine.

Congratulations to Early Childhood Education faculty member Danielle Rae Clark and adjunct faculty member Hallie Richards, and thank you to Arts and Sciences faculty member Jen Graham, whose work and support were integral to this achievement!
