From resident assistant to Miss 1886, Hasanatou Barry spent her time at UMES leading, serving, and inspiring others.

Now, the finance graduate and student leader is preparing for her next chapter as an early financial analyst with Lockheed Martin.

As Maryland communities continue to face a growing shortage of veterinary professionals, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore is working to be part of the solution! 🩶🐾

Recently featured by WMAR 2 News in Baltimore, Dr. Stanley Robertson, dean of UMES's proposed School of Veterinary Medicine, shared how the university is preparing to help meet Maryland's growing need for veterinarians.

UMES is currently pursuing accreditation for a new veterinary medicine program and hopes to welcome its inaugural class as early as 2027.

One walk. One community. One important message.. YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS! 🗣️💚

Hosted by UMES Counseling Services in partnership with the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention the UMES community came together for the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk to support mental health awareness and su***de prevention.

The event concluded with a community celebration featuring local wellness and mental health partners who shared resources, support information and free goodies with attendees!
