From France to The Shore! 🇫🇷🩶

This semester, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore welcomed representatives from the University of Lorraine as they visited campus to connect with students, faculty, and university leadership and learn more about our growing international exchange partnership.

During their visit, they spent time with the four University of Lorraine exchange students currently studying at UMES and met Fiyi Oladapo, who will study abroad at the University of Lorraine next semester. Fiyi is just the second UMES student to participate in the exchange program, continuing a partnership that provides Hawks with valuable global learning experiences.

From Maryland to France and back again, opportunities like these are helping students expand their horizons, build international connections, and prepare for success in an increasingly interconnected world. 🌍✨

This Men’s Mental Health Month, we’re reminding our Hawk brothers that strength isn’t about carrying everything alone.

Checking in. Speaking up. Asking for help. Supporting one another. These are all signs of strength!

At UMES, we encourage the men in our community to prioritize their mental health, lean on their support systems, and know that they are never alone.🩶

UMES President Dr. Heidi M. Anderson recently joined WJZ's Campus Connection to discuss the university's vision for Maryland's first veterinary school, along with UMES' upcoming 140th anniversary and continued growth.

The proposed School of Veterinary Medicine would be the first veterinary school in Maryland and the first at a public HBCU in the nation.
