Tonight was all about building WEALTH!

Part 2 of The Wealth Table was nothing short of incredible! It was so powerful spending the evening with our amazing community members and Sorors; Tonight’s conversation hosted by the PAAC Economic Development Committee was pure perfection!

A massive shoutout to Committee Chair, Soror Lori Carter, for sharing her wisdom, expertise, and incredible energy. She kept the virtual room just as informed, engaged, and inspired as our first in person session last month.

It was wonderful seeing familiar faces back again—sharing knowledge, lifting each other up, and pushing us all to aim higher. The enthusiasm was truly infectious, and everyone left with clear goals and fresh accountability partners!

We’re already counting down to the next event and can’t wait to see you there!

Last month, we officially kicked off our GEMS program for the new sorority year.

They caught up over pizza, chips, and drinks, and shared plenty of laughs during a fun game of “Would You Rather?” Nothing beats starting the year surrounded by genuine connection and good energy.

We’re so excited to launch our first official session this Sunday as we embark on a year dedicated to growth, sisterhood, learning, and empowerment.

NOTE: It’s not too late to find your home with us! Click the link in our bio to join the GEMS family today! ❤️🤍

Building the leaders of tomorrow… today!

Our EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) program officially kicked off this past Saturday with an incredible orientation session. The committee was thrilled to welcome 7 dynamic young men, ages 11–17, into this year’s cohort.

We started the day breaking bread together with some good food and fellowship before diving into a fun icebreaker. It was amazing to watch the boys connect and realize just how much they have in common—setting the stage for a strong brotherhood ahead.

During our orientation presentation, our scholars and their supportive parents/guardians learned all about:

🔹 What EMBODI is and our mission for youth empowerment

🔹 Program Overview & Expectations for the year ahead

🔹 Parent/Scholars Q&A to answer key questions and build strong partnerships
Next up on our schedule?

Giving back to our community! The boys are already gearing up for their first Service Learning project—stay tuned as we prepare to show out for our Trunk or Treat on October 21st.

Huge thank you to our parents, committee members, and scholars for making Day 1 a success. Great things are ahead.

Last night was not only a wonderful community event - a perfect occasion for 30 days until Election Day, the 21st Annual Freedom Fund Gala hosted by Wicomico County NAACP Branch 7028-B also honored two of our chapter members, a total of three Sorors.

While the room was packed, in one of the locations for Early Voting in Wicomico County, The night was reverent to our past and a great shot to the arm emphasizing the power of our voice, and the larger power of our voice in our vote especially as we head into these critical final 30 days until Election Day! And we appreciated the reminder of not only the vote but our voice beyond the vote - holding our elected officials accountable to the community when they get to office.

A big Thank you to the Wicomico County NAACP for hosting a powerful evening, let’s keep the messages and momentum going all the way to the ballot box and beyond.

About our Sorors that were honored last night - two from our chapter and one from Cambridge - we are so proud of you and the incredible work you have done.

Jahniyah Sutherland - a powerhouse in all that she does including first black female SGA president at SU, past student NAACP President and, of course, her Social Action work for the Eastern Region and beyond. So so proud of you

Shanda Ward - founder of ESMDSCA along with her family. Bringing care and awareness of Sickle Cell to our community - so we don’t have to travel for the medical attention that is needed … Thank you for the commitment and vision - so excited for you and your plans.

Ashlee Laughlin, member of Cambridge Alumnae Chapter, and powerhouse to ALL women in our area. The vision coming to fruition and the beauty, support and confirming love of Celebrez La Femme is phenomenal.

Sorors - we are so proud!
