Princeton University - Chemistry

Princeton University - Chemistry Welcome to the Department of Chemistry at Princeton University, the frontier of innovation and where lines between chemistry and other disciplines merge.

The Department of Chemistry is a vital, expanding hub of scientific inquiry with deep historic roots and a ready grasp on the future. Housed in the world-class Frick Chemistry Laboratory newly opened in 2010, faculty and students work at the frontiers of science where the lines between chemistry and other disciplines merge. They conduct collaborative, interdisciplinary research with the potential

to produce anything from new molecules and forms of energy to advanced models of catalysis and innovative materials. They also are immersed in the classic pursuit of chemistry -- to examine the composition of substances and investigate their properties and reactions. Postdoctoral fellows and graduate students are invited and encouraged to pursue individualized programs. Their experience is enhanced by strong faculty mentoring and access to world-leading intellectual and physical resources. Undergraduates carry out research projects both in and out of the classroom in state-of-the-art facilities, working side-by-side with faculty and graduate students. Posting guidelines:

The National Science Foundation Center for Computer Assisted Synthesis is alive! This phase I CCI will combine data science and machine learning with chemistry to transform how the synthesis of complex organic molecules is planned and executed. Prof. Abby Doyle and her lab will be leading reaction optimization and machine learning. Read more on the Center’s website:

The Center for Computer Aided Synthesis (C-CAS) uses quantitative, data-driven approaches to make synthetic chemistry more predictable.
