In the last few weeks, we have seen a tremendous outpouring of support and activism for the Black Lives Matter movement within our own community and nationwide. We would like to share an opportunity for you all to continue this conversation in a discussion about anti-racism within Princeton SEAS. Students, postdocs, and faculty are meeting tonight, June 26, at 5pm via Zoom to discuss survey results from the Google form linked here (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSce5jUpuSxcGq3-Fcf4YItAl3h92LSAu-CntdwMbuc-STFfjQ/viewform?fbclid=IwAR1kFI1aR4zyTJeNcV1w-azr9dnUnyI-iPj__Y6Q6_-JUtuUqTZf0oFHa1g) and next steps in drafting a petition for a town hall with SEAS leadership to discuss those suggestions. If you are interested, feel free to read the full statement at the Google form link above and sign up with your email to be included as this process continues. Here is a message from the organizers:
We represent a group of students that has begun to assemble with the goal of requesting more decisive and concrete actions from the Princeton SEAS administration to end discrimination in our school. We would like to spread the word and reach as many members of the SEAS community as possible, including graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and staff. If you are interested in discussing the current state of inequality in SEAS and potential action plans to both enact anti-racist policies and create a more inclusive culture, please read through our full statement and consider joining our working group, set to meet this Friday, June 26 at 5pm. We hope you can attend!
