MIMA MIMA promotes increased collaboration between different creative groups on campus, combining dance,

MIMA offers an alternative outlet for creative, and in particular, musical expression on campus in a non-academic space. Our "MIMA Presents:" series acts both as a party and an interactive media showcase where students engaged in creative disciplines in any way can perform and present their work in an exciting social context. One of our primary goals is to promote increased collaboration between d

ifferent creative groups on campus, combining dance, visual arts and music to produce a richer dialogue. We aim to complement academic departments which are often restricted in their interactions with other fields and the way that their work is presented to the student body. MIMA is a platform where all sorts of projects (not just musical) can be shown to the university community. Finally, we want to develop a student base of members and supporters and develop ties with groups that we can collaborate with in the future, in order to develop MIMA’s presence as an alternative social music group on campus. Other projects that are in development include a weekly jam session / songwriting workshop in Trenton that we hope to re-launch in the fall, musical workshops for students not necessarily in the music department, and weekend afternoon sessions where students come together and create interactive, interdisciplinary art with others interested in pushing the boundaries of their work. Southbank Skatepark (The Undercroft) has been one of London's most vibrant centres for urban art since 1973. Now it's in danger of being demolished. Watch this amazing video about the history of a street-artist's mecca, recently featured at the VENICE BIENNALE. Maybe with enough support we can help save it!
