Move-In Day is officially in the books! 🖤

We loved welcoming the Class of 2030 and transfer students to Friartown and beginning this next chapter together. Families filled campus with excitement as new Friars settled into their new homes, connected with their community, and gathered for the Welcome Mass and reception.

🌎🇲🇽 : Friars take their learning around the world!

In the spring, Providence College Department of Social Work major Sergio Espinoza ’27 studied in Cuernavaca, Mexico, where he explored social work in a Latin American context and was placed with the Human Rights Commission in the State of Morelos (Comisión de Derechos Humanos del Estado de México).

Providence College students have opportunities to learn beyond campus and experience new communities and cultures, including Mexico and other destinations around the globe.

And the Friar flag comes along for the journey. 🖤✈️

📚🖤 Meet Alex Orquiza, Ph.D., associate professor of history and the 2025–26 recipient of Providence College’s Joseph R. Accinno Faculty Teaching Award, the college's highest teaching honor.

Since joining PC in 2015, Orquiza has brought the Providence College Department of History and Classics to life in the classroom. He co-taught a Civ colloquia on the history of food, presented a pad thai cooking demonstration, and even performed a live Mozart piece for students. Orquiza's contributions have left an indelible mark on the Friar learning experience.

Have questions before you arrive on campus? Join us for an “Ask Me Anything” webinar with our orientation coordinators on Thursday, August 20, at 6 p.m.!
Incoming members of the Class of 2030 and their families can tune in via Zoom or stream from our other platforms and ask questions throughout the event.
Can’t make it or want to submit your question ahead of time? Send it to us on social media or email [email protected]. The recording will be available to the Class of 2030 following the event.
