UPDATE: The U.S. Department of Education posted an Electronic Announcement (EA) confirming the pause does not affect student financial aid.

The U.S. Department of Education posted an Electronic Announcement (EA) confirming that "per the memo, the pause does not impact 'assistance received directly by individuals.' This includes Title IV, HEA funds, which are provided to individual students."

You may have heard about President Trump's recent executive order, which puts a pause on federal grants and loans. The U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB), has indicated that this pause is unlikely to affect Federal Pell Grants and Direct Loans that individuals receive directly.
