From the classroom to the U.S. Embassy in Windhoek, Namibia 🌍🇳🇦

Students had the opportunity to meet with CDC representatives stationed in Namibia, learning firsthand about infectious disease research and public health efforts in southern Africa. Even better? They asked thoughtful questions and left a lasting impression on our hosts.

Moments like these are what it means to make the world your campus.

From Brazil’s coral reefs to Provo, UT, BYU students and faculty partnered with researchers at Universidade Federal da Bahia to study the fire sponge’s genome and its potential applications for cancer and malaria treatments. Through research, language, and shared knowledge, students and faculty are building global bridges that extend far beyond the lab.

“Our goal with this collaboration was to uncover as many ways as we could to use our unique gifts of light to bless lives.” — Dr. Jonathon Hill
