Firefighters in cancer remission are invited to help advance research on cancer-related fatigue.

Researchers are seeking current and retired U.S. structural volunteer and career firefighters who have completed cancer treatment and are now in remission to participate in a brief, anonymous survey.

The survey takes about 15 minutes and will help researchers better understand the persistent physical, mental, and emotional fatigue that can continue after cancer treatment.

Great information on an article in Firehouse.com

🚒 Investing in our firefighters means investing in their health.

We’re sharing an important article recently published by Firehouse.com and written by Chief Eric Felker, “Volunteer Fire Department Investment in Comprehensive Physical Exams for Members Must Be a Priority.”

The article reinforces why comprehensive physical exams and wellness programs should be a priority for every fire department. Firefighters face increased risks from cardiovascular disease, cancer, respiratory disease, behavioral health challenges, and other occupational health concerns—and early detection can make a lifesaving difference.

We’re also proud to see the First Responder Center for Excellence specifically recognized in the article as a resource for fire department leaders working to develop and strengthen comprehensive physical exam programs.

Apparatus, equipment, and stations are important investments—but our most valuable resource will always be the people who answer the call.

📖 We encourage fire service leaders, especially those serving volunteer departments, to take a few minutes to read and share this important article:
