BYU Department of Psychology The Psychology Department is home to the largest undergrad major at Brigham Young University.

As the university’s first program to offer a Ph.D., the psychology program at BYU represents a history of academic excellence. With 33 full-time faculty, the research interests and opportunities available to students are diverse and numerous. The four main research areas are Applied Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, each of

which contains a variety of specific areas of research such as Relationships and Health Outcomes, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Learning and Memory. In addition to the myriad of research areas, the psychology program at BYU also offers other resources that are helpful to both undergraduate and graduate students including funding for research and travel, up-to-date computers and classroom technology, animal facilities, research opportunities for credit or pay, an advising office in the department, and internship opportunities. The psychology faculty are passionate about their work as researchers, teachers and mentors and work diligently to pass on their knowledge and their training to their students.
