For years, Patrick Hylton proudly wore Cougar gear while supporting his wife and two oldest children as they pursued their education through WSU Global Campus. This spring, he’ll officially become a Coug himself! 🐾

Inspired by his family’s experiences and a newfound interest in data, Patrick is beginning his own journey at WSU, pursuing a degree in data analytics and showing his younger children that it’s never too late to continue your education.

The WSU Global Campus environmental and ecosystems science major is a great way to learn cutting-edge STEM skills applicable to a wide range of fields in environmental and earth sciences, all with the flexibility and convenience of online learning. Don’t take our word for it! David used his degree to expand his career as an analytical chemist and environmental researcher.

“All the classes I took were highly applicable to my field. Without my experience at WSU Global, I don’t think my skills would be as refined as a chemist and as a researcher.

Most likely I would not have been able to subsequently publish original research in my field as a primary author. This had been one of my aspirations prior to going back to school.

I’m very grateful for my time at WSU Global Campus and how it helped me get to where I am today.”

🎉 Congratulations to Kevin Van De Wege, the newest member of the WSU Global Campus Society of Distinguished Alumni!

A 2002 WSU Global Campus graduate, Van De Wege was inducted into the Society of Distinguished Alumni (SODA) during a WSU football game in Pullman on Sept. 26. From an 18-year career in the Washington State Legislature to 27 years of service as a firefighter and paramedic, Van De Wege has built a career centered on leadership and public service.

A big congratulations to Global Campus alumnus Krist Novoselić! Nirvana was honored with the Video Vanguard Award at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, recognizing the band’s lasting influence on music, music video, and popular culture. Krist, Nirvana’s co-founder and bassist, is also a proud WSU Global Campus Coug who earned his degree in Social Sciences in 2016.
