The IUP Punxsutawney Campus students participated in IUP's 150th Anniversary Carnival Celebration at the Indiana Campus on Saturday. It was a great event and our first road trip of the year!

This week as part of our "Lunch & Learn" series, we welcomed IUP Academy of Culinary Arts Alumnus '08 Chef Pete Tolman from Iron Born Pizza in Pittsburgh. Chef Tolman talked about his career and how it led to pizza being his passion. Scott Anthony, owner of Punxsy Pizza in Punxsutawney, joined Chef Tolman to talk about the cookbook, "The Pursuit of Pizza" that they became a part of due to their participation in the World Pizza Championship. Chef Tolman demonstrated his White Pie, a Detroit style pizza to the students, which they all got to sample. Every student received a copy of "The Pursuit of Pizza" cookbook at the event.

Mandi Caylor from the Punxsutawney Area Hospital was our presenter for our first ever Lunch & Learn program. April is National Donate Life Month, so Mandi provided information to the students regarding organ, tissue and cornea donation while they had lunch. More Lunch & Learn programs will be available in the future.

We have had lots of Halloween fun this week, starting with the Trunk or Treat event with TCC Church in Punxsutawney on Sunday, to our Annual Halloween party last night. We also announced the winners of the Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Congrats to our winners!
