Students from Professor Anna Ozbek’s Broadcast News and TV Laboratory classes along with students from the Global Black Studies program visited the NYC studios of the TV news show “Democracy Now!” for a live morning broadcast. Students spoke with host Amy Goodman and producers from various divisions about how the show is made and potential internship opportunities that are available. BLKNWS: Terms & Condition a genre-bending documentary adapted from Director Kahlil Joseph’s renowned video art installation. It is a distinctive cinematic experience that mirrors the sonic textures of a record album, weaving fiction and history in an immersive journey where the fictionalized figures of W. E. B. Du Bois and Marcus Garvey join artists, musicians, Joseph’s family, and even Twitter chats, in a vision for black consciousness.
