Have a long day of classes and need a little energy boost? SUNY Purchase has a great option!

In Italy, there is a lovely tradition called “merenda” a light snack enjoyed between lunch and dinner. Students can enjoy their own little merenda right here on campus!

Stop by the Pantry and say hello to the wonderful Lizz, who welcomes students with fresh, delicious fruit and yogurt, a perfect pick-me-up to recharge and keep going through a busy day.

Today, the SUNY Purchase Multicultural Center at Fort Awesome hosted a meaningful Story Exchange led by Dr. Ellen Brooks.

The Story Exchange is the core methodology of Narrative 4, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building empathy, understanding, and human connection through the power of storytelling.

Thirteen participants attended the event, bringing together SUNY Purchase students and members of the senior community. Participants exchanged personal stories, opened their hearts, listened to one another, and created a welcoming space where people could connect across different generations and life experiences.

The gathering demonstrated how powerful storytelling can be. When people take the time to listen to someone else’s experiences, they often discover that despite differences in age, culture, or background, there is much that connects them.

The Story Exchange offered an afternoon of empathy, connection, listening, and shared humanity. ❤️

The program will continue, creating more opportunities for the SUNY Purchase community to come together and share their stories.

Communications alum Anthony Lejos (class ’22) and his band recorded two songs from his 2024 EP Eminente in a special studio recording session for Anna Ozbek’s TV Laboratory class.
