We had such an exciting opportunity today to tour the Pittsylvania Career & Technical Center and learn about the amazing programs that they offer. Special thanks to PCTC Director Angela Rigney and Principal Jessica Dalton for taking the time to spend with us today and to Superintendent Mark Jones, the leadership team, and educators of PCS for supporting a truly visionary approach to educating our students today to be our workforce of the future.
PCTC offers career training in
eighteen program in high demand fields: Auto Body, Automotive Technology, Automation and Robotics, Computer Systems Technology,
Computer Network Hardware Operations, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Electricity, EMT, Horticulture Science, HVAC, Industrial Technician Mechanical, Nursing Assistants, Precision Machining, Small Animal Care/Veterinarian Science, Teachers for Tomorrow, and Welding.
It was an honor to see students actively engaged in such a transformative learning environment! This unique education model not only educates and trains students in their specific areas of career interest, but also will draw top industries to the area with the guarantee of a highly-skilled workforce to meet their needs.
Pittsylvania County and the entire region will benefit from the commitment and collaboration that created PCTC and the positive impact will be felt for generations.
