Radford Club Baseball is a club sport offered through the department of Student Recreation and Wellness through Student Activities at Radford University. The club offers students the opportunity to continue their passion and play of the sport at the college level. We understand that for whatever reason playing the varsity level does not work out for everyone. We as a club provide an alternative to continue playing the greatest sport on earth at a competitive level.

We had a great first day of tryouts with a lot of new promising faces to continue our amazing and fun club. Tonight’s tryout due to weather has been cancelled! Come out Wednesday 8pm to the intramural field by the deadman center for the last day of tryouts if still interested!

Good morning!

Unfortunately, Radford University has been shut down for the remainder of the semester, which means our season is over.

We went 5-3 this year, and we showed some real good things in those eight games. We’re loaded with some young talent that can definitely take control of this club and push it where I know it can go, it’s just about being able to get on the field to make it there.

It was a very short season, and a very short school year. It is unfortunate that it has to end like this, but it’s understandable considering the circumstances surrounding this crazy time we’re all going through. But as understandable as it may be, it definitely doesn’t make it easy to accept.

I hope that all of you remain safe and in good health!

Hey everyone. We have just received word from President Hemphill that RU is shut down until April 17th due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue classes online, but on campus housing and all campus buildings will be closed to students until the 17th of April, and the University will not permit any gatherings during this time while the closing is in effect. This will include our home series against High Point on March 21st and 22nd. I am currently trying to get in touch with High Point and our NCBA rep to figure out what all I have to do, but I am going to try to get this series back on the schedule somewhere. Once I know what is going on I will let you all know here. On a side note, be sure to wash your hands!

I am proud to say we officially have a home field!

For the first time in FIVE years, we are hosting a home series. On March 21st and 22nd we host High Point, and April 25th and 26th we host VMI, weather permitting.

I am really excited about this, as it is something I’ve really been looking to do for our club since taking over as President. I want to give a big thank you to Mr. George Williams, Jr. and the Radford High School Foundation as a whole.

Your boys swept Wake Forest this weekend! Coleman Duty, Brett Ronyecs, and Justin Beaty really took charge this weekend with awesome team baseball behind them. Coleman threw a 13 K one-hitter in game one, and Brett followed up with a gem of his own going the distance striking out 10 and giving up 3 runs on a handful of hits. In this mornings game Justin went 3-4 with a walk, a double, 2 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in. Other notable performances came from Taz Miller, Jacob Mozingo, Dylan Counts, Lucas Bennett, and Mason Mills. Perfect way to end the fall semester boys!

After a weekend of beautiful baseball weather, Radford went 2-1 and won the first series of the year against Lynchburg! Tons of offense in these three games from our guys with returners and rookies both contributing to the team in a plethora of ways.

Next up, we hit the road to take on JMU on October 19th and 20th!

Unfortunately, after many attempts to secure a local field, we were unable to find one for our home series against Lynchburg.

But no worries!

We are kicking off our season on September 28th at Heritage High School (3020 Wards Ferry Rd, Lynchburg VA 24502)! Two games will take place on Saturday, and the final game will be played on Sunday. First pitch for Saturday is scheduled to be at 11:30 AM, so come on out and support y’all’s favorite baseball club!
