What can future teachers learn by stepping into a classroom more than 1,000 miles from home? 🌎📚

This summer, four Radford University education students traveled to Eleuthera and Harbour Island in the Bahamas, where they taught alongside local educators, experienced a different approach to education and gained a new perspective on the role culture and community play in the classroom.

It was an opportunity to put what they’ve learned at Radford into practice — and bring lessons home that will shape the teachers they become.

This summer, four Highlanders decided to broaden their perspective of the classroom by visiting another, even smaller community: Eleuthera and Harbour Island in the Bahamas.
