Mission: The Mission of Theta Rho Nu Fraternity is to engender environments of collective promotion, network elevation, and philanthropic service.

Founded March 21, 2021

Incorporated March 6, 2023

Purpose: The purpose of Theta Rho Nu is to provide synergetic connection between men exceling in scholastic and career advancement who are of similar life experience. Theta Rho Nu was formed from a desire to elevate the community of professional and academic same-gender loving minority men, and create pathways of change for members individually,

the organization collectively, and the community as a whole. Theta Rho Nu was sparked from a need to fill a void and bridge a gap between the potential of thought and the kinetic actions of service, celebration, and camaraderie. Theta Rho Nu will become a nexus of positive representation and efficacious advocacy aimed at effecting lasting and progressive change for all members and their communities. Theta Rho Nu will strive to be a force multiplier in members’ academic and career advancements and goals. Through facilitation of workshops and conferences, mentoring, successive approximation, and leadership development Theta Rho Nu will increase the self-efficacy of its members to achieve heightened goals in the academic, professional, and political arenas while promoting positive visibility and efforts socially and culturally. Theta Rho Nu recognizes the ideal of intersectionality and welcomes each member as a complete Man unto himself and celebrates the entirety of his existence and experiences. While recognizing that the collective myriad experiences are catalyst to one another and create profound change for the individual and organization. Values: Theta Rho Nu is devoted to the collective elevation of professional same-gender loving minority men and the increased representation of such throughout all platforms based upon the precepts of synergist collaboration, self-recognition in service of others, and examples of excellence in action. Theta Rho Nu believes that the first step to achieving goals and greatness is recognizing the ability to attain it by seeing someone of similar experience achieve it too. Today, Theta Rho Nu Fraternity honors the fathers, father figures, mentors, and men who have embraced the sacred responsibility of guiding the next generation.

We celebrate the men who have poured their time, wisdom, strength, and love into their children and families. The lessons they teach, the examples they set, and the sacrifices they make leave an impact that reaches far beyond a single day. Their influence helps shape confident children, stronger families, and healthier communities.

To every father who leads with integrity, stands firm in his truth, and leaves a legacy of strength, compassion, and purpose, we celebrate you today.

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom delayed but never denied.

The imagery of the raised torch reminds us that liberation is not a destination reached once, but a flame carried forward by every generation. The open books symbolize the power of knowledge, truth, and education to transform lives and communities. The roses blooming around them speak to resilience, beauty, and growth born from struggle. Together, they tell the story of a people who endured, persevered, and continue to rise.

As men committed to Sovereignty, Unity, Loyalty, Truth, Passion, and Synergy, the Brothers of Theta Rho Nu Fraternity recognize Juneteenth as both a historical milestone and a living call to action. We celebrate the strength of our ancestors, honor the sacrifices that paved the way, and recommit ourselves to uplifting our communities through leadership, service, education, and advocacy.

May we never take freedom for granted. May we continue to pursue justice with courage, wisdom with purpose, and community with unwavering love.

A new chapter in the story of Theta Rho Nu Fraternity, Inc. is about to be written.

Applications are now officially being accepted for the Fall 2026 Membership Intake, and we are searching for men ready to answer the call to purpose, leadership, and legacy. The next line of Destined Kings is forming, and the question is simple:

Will you be a part of it?

Theta Rho Nu was founded on the belief that men who look, live, and love like us deserve more than mere tolerance. We deserve a brotherhood where authenticity is celebrated, achievement is encouraged, and excellence is expected. We are a fraternity built upon Sovereignty, Unity, Loyalty, Truth, Passion, and Synergy. We develop leaders, cultivate scholarship, inspire service, and forge bonds that endure for a lifetime.

Today we celebrate an extraordinary achievement by our Founder and President, Dr. KC Freeman, DSW, LCSW, who has been named the recipient of the 2026 Emerging Voice Award by the Society for Spirituality and Social Work.

This recognition honors leaders whose work is helping shape the future of social work by advancing conversations around spirituality, meaning making, cultural humility, and holistic approaches to healing. For those of us who know KC, this award comes as no surprise. Through his work as a clinician, educator, researcher, author, and community builder, he has consistently challenged the profession to create space for the full humanity of those we serve.

From the classroom to the community, from the therapy room to the written page, his voice has been one that reminds us that healing is not merely clinical, but also cultural, communal, and spiritual. His commitment to uplifting marginalized voices and creating spaces where people can live authentically and thrive reflects the very values upon which Theta Rho Nu Fraternity was founded.

As Brothers of Theta Rho Nu, we are honored to witness this moment and proud to celebrate a leader whose vision continues to inspire us to pursue excellence, service, and legacy.

In a world that too often asks people like us to shrink, soften, or silence parts of ourselves, Theta Rho Nu Fraternity stands firmly in the belief that authenticity is sacred. “Pride in Identity” is not simply part of our motto. It is a commitment to living fully in our truth while honoring every experience, struggle, triumph, and layer that shaped us into the men we are today.
