Way to go, Abby Martin ‘27 and family!! 🐺❤️🤍

The Martin family is the 2026 NC State Family of the Year! Abigail Martin, a Park Scholar and senior in the NC State Poole College of Management, submitted the award-winning nomination. Her family traveled from Massachusetts for Parents and Families Weekend and was honored on the field at today's game.

Abby said that her family didn’t just support her — they gave her the courage and space to build her own Wolfpack community. And despite having no prior connection to NC State, Abby says her parents haven't missed a Wolfpack game on TV since she started attending in fall 2023.

The Family of the Year contest has become an annual tradition during Parents and Families Weekend. Hosted by NC State Parents and Families Services, Family of the Year invites NC State students to honor and express gratitude for their parents and family members’ unwavering commitment and exceptional encouragement throughout their educational journey.

From trying the alpine tower to sharing s’mores around the campfire, the Park Scholarships Class of 2030 kicked off their journey together at the annual Freshman Retreat!

From Sydney, Australia, to Raleigh, North Carolina! ✈️🇦🇺➡️🇺🇸

Sutter McQuillan '30 was featured as one of seven students in NC State’s "Meet the 2026 Incoming Class" highlight!

“I’m considering mechanical and industrial engineering and doing something in robotics or manufacturing,” said Sutter. “I also love talking to people and building community. I want to use engineering to make a difference for people.”

The Dorothy and Roy Park Alumni Center on Centennial Campus is celebrating its 20th birthday! The building of this facility was led by a generous gift from Dorothy Park in honor of her late husband, NC State alumnus Roy H. Park ('31).

And of course, the Park Foundation also established the Park program. We're grateful for all they have done for NC State!

The Dorothy and Roy Park Alumni Center on Centennial Campus opened in 2006 as a gathering place, event space and dedicated home base for NC State Alumni, given by the generosity of those who had great affection for their alma mater.

Abby Mulry '26, recent Park graduate, was asked to moderate a session with astronaut and NC State alum Christina Koch. The program was called “Astronaut Strategies for College Students." Ms. Koch gave some advice and talked about her experiences navigating challenges, risk and doubt throughout her college years and career. She even talked about the broken toilet on the Artemis II mission!

"I was honored to have the opportunity to speak with such an inspiration to the Wolfpack community and the entire world," said Abby.

Incoming freshman Srajan Rastogi ’30 is on the move this summer! 🌟

🏛️ Washington, D.C.: Srajan served as a Youth Panelist for the National 4-H Council at their Board of Trustees Dinner, meeting with Fortune 500 leaders, philanthropists and National 4-H CEO Jill Bramble.

🗺️ San Diego, CA: He presented his research on housing inequity and public transportation access at the Esri User Conference, using geospatial analysis to spotlight urban inequality and infrastructure access.
