Things are beginning to shape up as we begin a new school year! Here’s what we did on the week of 8/23 to 8/29 🗓️ :

Vehicle/Recovery 🚀🪂
- Created composite layups for destructive testing

Payload 🪨🛞
- Held workshops on payload basics
- Settled on creating a rover payload, with the objective of navigating and mapping terrain

Aerodynamics/Airbrakes 💨
- Weight test current airbrakes design
- Explore metal airbrakes

Wolfworks 🐺🔧
- Research aspects of liquid rockets
- Make design decisions for a club liquid rocket

On June 13th, six of our club members went down to Dalzell, SC to launch their personal rockets!

Congratulations to the amazing L1 launches by Wilder Prevatt on his rocket Gon, Ben Roylance on his rocket Dagget, Khushi on her rocket Poseidon, and Julia on her rocket IHJ!

A double-sized congratulations to Mads Groennegaard on his successful L2 launch with his rocket Munin!

Harshil’s rocket, Pinpointer, unfortunately had issues with the nosecone structure and rail buttons. But fear not, Pinpointer will return!

Despite the heat, our club members made the most of the day’s launch and are more ready than ever for the next one! 🚀

From rainy weather, burn bans, launching every two weeks, and a Hail Mary. It’s been a year to look back on. All the stress, fun times, uncertainty, hope, and excitement. It all ended up working out. So take a moment to look back and remember all those early mornings that turned into great memories. All the friends you were surrounded by all the meal you shared together. And if you ever forget it, then this post (and many others) will still be up to look back at. Best of luck to all the graduated seniors, you’ll be missed.
