Over the weekend, three of our Chinese students traveled to Raleigh, NC to attend the North Carolina Chinese Speech Contest at North Carolina State University with the Confucius Institute North Carolina State University Confucius Institute . The aim of the contest is to provide a stage for Chinese learners to present their Chinese speaking skills and increase their understanding of Chinese language and culture. To qualify, students had to submit a short video, showcasing their Chinese proficiency. Out of a pool of more than 300 contestants from all over NC, 10 were chosen for the Higher Level Immersion group; 4 students from Waddell Language Academy qualified for this round! (1 was unable to attend the finals). The girls had to give a 2 minute speech, showcase a Chinese talent and then answer impromptu questions. They won the Best Talent award, Stage Charisma award and overall 3rd place finish for the NC Chinese Language contest. 祝賀女孩們
