To every Wolfpack member who is a veteran or who cares for a veteran, we thank you for your service to and support of the nation’s military. Each November, displays over 1,000 flags in the Court of Carolina to honor the service and sacrifice of our Wolfpack veterans. Each flag represents a current NC State student, faculty or staff military veteran. The flag display is one of the ways NC State acknowledges and thanks our veterans for their contributions to our university community and our nation.

Marc Hetherington, Raymond H. Dawson Professor of Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will deliver the 2022 American Ideals Lecture. Hetherington studies the American electorate, with a particular focus on the polarization of public opinion. He will discuss his research on how American public opinion and polarization has been shaped by COVID-19 and how our COVID-19 response has been shaped by political dynamics. We are thrilled that SPIA student Shannon Fuller '21 will address her fellow graduates as the student commencement speaker today. Shannon completed her degree in Leadership in the Public Sector after a two-decades-long journey to a bachelor's degree.

The UNA-USA Wake County Chapter invites you to a United Nations 75 event featuring George Sibley, U.S. Mid-Atlantic Diplomat. Sibley served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Rangoon for three years. He will share his insights on the prospects for a return to democracy there, and the role for external influence in lessening human rights abuses in the country.
