Dr. Kirik and Dr. Blue spent the past week at BCCE in Madison, Wisconsin! Dr. Kirik presented on her research-based labs for Biochemistry II and Dr. Blue presented about her experiences with specifications grading in Organic. They also had a chance to catch up with one of our other favorite biochemists, Dr. Reynolds and some of his family! It was a beautiful location with lots of amazing workshops, presentations, and posters. BCCE = Biennial Conference on Chemical Education . πŸ§€ β›΅ 🚲 🦩πŸ§ͺ 🧫

Saturday was a beautiful day to celebrate all of our new graduates! Four freshly minted biochemists, one chemist, and one biology major with chemistry minor that we like to claim as our own, these 6 young women are ready to take on the world and we are so proud of them and excited for them. This group includes award-winning researchers, two star athletes and team leaders, an EMT, internships, a future cancer researcher and doctor, future masters-level and Ph.D. Biochemists, a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force, and all-around wonderful human beings. These students have grown, matured, and learned so much in their time in our department and we have loved being able to join them on this journey. We will miss them so much and can't wait to see where they go! πŸŽ“πŸͺπŸŽ‰πŸ₯°πŸ₯ΌπŸ”¬πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ”¬πŸ§¬πŸ§ͺπŸ§«βš—οΈ
