Purple Up! Day Event Summary – April 15, 2026

On April 15, 2026, Wake Technical Community College's Military and Veteran Services Department proudly celebrated Purple Up! Day across our campuses to recognize and honor military-connected dependents and their families. Students, faculty, and staff were encouraged to wear purple as a visible show of support for the sacrifices, strength, and resilience of military dependents.

As part of the celebration, Military and Veteran Services distributed Purple Up! t-shirts to students, faculty, and staff, helping to increase awareness and encourage campus-wide participation. The purple shirts served as a symbol of appreciation for military dependents and highlighted Wake Tech's commitment to supporting military-affiliated families.

The event fostered a sense of community while raising awareness of the unique experiences and challenges faced by military families. Through the distribution of t-shirts and active campus engagement, Wake Tech demonstrated its continued dedication to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for military-connected students and their dependents.

Purple Up! Day served as a meaningful opportunity to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of military dependents and reaffirm Wake Tech's commitment to honoring and supporting the military community.
