💛🖤 71 Years of Service. Brotherhood. Excellence. 🖤💛
On this day, April 4, we proudly celebrate the 71st anniversary of the chartering of the Zeta Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., established in 1955 in Red Bank, New Jersey by 21 visionary men committed to service and impact across Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
From trailblazers like Bro. Dr. Lorenzo W. Harris, Jr., the first Black elected official in Asbury Park, to the lasting legacy of Bros. Dr. James W. Parker, Sr. and Jr., whose service to the community still stands today—ZEL has always been rooted in leadership, scholarship, and community uplift.
For over seven decades, this chapter has remained bias toward action—raising hundreds of thousands in scholarships, delivering impactful programming, and setting a standard of excellence across the state, region, and fraternity.
Today, under the leadership of Bro. Wayne Autry, Esq., we continue that legacy—serving our communities, developing leaders, and building pathways for the next generation.
We honor the past.
We stand firmly in the present.
And we move forward with purpose.
Here’s to 71 years of ZEL—and many more to come.
