Kicking off the school year at Hewetson ES for our first Excellence in Education Award of the year! As the social worker at her school, Ms. Stayton demonstrates the wolf pack way everyday!

A well-deserved spotlight for Ms. Amanda Stayton, an outstanding social worker at Halle Hewetson Elementary!

Surrounded by her students and colleagues, Ms. Stayton was surprised during an all-school assembly with the first UNR Excellence in Education Award of the school year. Through programs like Bear Buddy, she creates meaningful connections and a culture of belonging that helps students feel supported, connected and ready to thrive.

Along with the honor, Ms. Stayton received a plaque, a letter signed by UNR President Sandoval and tickets to the UNR vs. UNLV football game later this season.

Congratulations, Ms. Stayton! Your impact on the Hewetson community is truly something to celebrate!

Two weeks. So many schools. So much excitement! 🎉📚🎓The 2026–2027 school year is officially underway, and our team has been BUSY across Nevada! 🐺
We kicked off the first week by visiting several of our Clark County Collegiate Academy partner schools, helping students get set up for a successful start from admissions applications and NetID activations to WebCampus access! We joined an admissions workshop at Mater Academy East with Mr. Turner, who invited us because he wanted to make sure his seniors submit their university application for next fall! 👏 Now THAT is being ahead of the game! 

Our team was on campus for NevadaFIT events where we met and identified some of our incoming Collegiate Academy freshmen. 🎓✨
To make the start of the school year even more exciting, we delivered some goodies for our amazing Washoe County partner principals, counselors, and teachers. 🙌

Feeling incredibly grateful after our first-ever Collegiate Academy Kickoff! 💙🐺 A heartfelt thank you to our amazing team and campus partners who traveled from Reno to spend the day with our Southern Nevada partners!

Thank you to the Office of Government & Community Engagement (Office of Government and Community Engagement), the Office of the Provost, the Office of Prospective Students (Nevada Admissions), the Clark County School District Team Engagement (CCSD Engagement Unit), the Office of Information Technology, the Disability Resource Center, WebCampus Support, and the University Libraries (University Libraries at the University of Nevada, Reno) for sharing valuable resources and helping build a strong sense of community for our students.

We are so thankful for the University’s support of the Collegiate Academy program and for everyone who helped make our kickoff a success.🐺✨

Here’s to the 2025–2026 academic year! 🎓✨ Across Nevada, Collegiate Academy students continue to demonstrate what is possible through determination and academic excellence. This year, we awarded 5,612 graduation medals!
On May 21, we gathered with students, families, faculty, educators, and community leaders to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our Collegiate Academy graduates. We were honored to welcome incoming Washoe County School District Superintendent Tiffany McMaster and celebrate our outstanding Teachers of the Year: Nicole Marvin (Spanish Springs High School), Will Hauser (Galena High School), Carly Reugebrink (Spanish Springs High School), and Steve Kopald (Sparks High School). We also proudly recognized Roberto Ortiz as our Faculty of the Year. A heartfelt thank you to these exceptional educators for their dedication, passion, and commitment to student success. Their impact extends far beyond the classroom, helping students build confidence, achieve their goals, and prepare for bright futures. 🌟

Collegiate Academy is about more than dual credit it’s about expanding access, creating pathways to higher education, and empowering students to build bright futures beyond high school. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and can’t wait to see what they accomplish as part of the Wolf Pack! ✨

Special surprise visit yesterday with Provost Thompson to award an outstanding Principal! In collaboration with Clark County School District Team Engagement CCSD Engagement Unit we surprise incredible proud alumni educators with our Excellence in Education Award 🐺 💙

This month we recognized Principal Mr. Roger West who exemplifies excellence, integrity, and inclusiveness through his transformative 10-year leadership at Faiss Middle School. Under his guidance, Faiss has risen from a 2-star to a 4-star school. He has lead the Southwest Principal Group for 5 years where he mentors 9 surrounding middle school principals in best practices!

Congratulations Mr. West!! We are always proud to see our alumni embodying the Wolf Pack Way! 🐺 💙 ✨

What an exciting day to be Chaparral High School visiting our Collegiate Academy! We had the chance to visit Geology and Japanese classes and see incredible learning in action. ✨ 🤠 A special thank you to the amazing counselor Ms. Escobedo for welcoming us onto campus!

We were especially honored to be joined by Yali Lincroft from the Walter S. Johnson Foundation, Senator Roberta Lange, Assemblymember David Orientlicher, CCSD Associate Superintendent Kevin McPartlin, and Trustee Linda P. Cavazos.
