πŸŽ“ Meet Michelle Quintanilla, our new GSA Social Work Intern! πŸΊπŸ’™

"Hi! My name is Michelle Quintanilla, and my pronouns are she/her. I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work at UNR. I also serve as a social work intern with the Graduate Student Association.

I graduated from UNR in Spring 2026 with my Bachelor of Social Work and previously interned with UNR’s Office of Government and Community Relations, where I focused on Hispanic/Latinx community engagement. That experience strengthened my interest in working with college students and continuing my career in higher education.

During my internship with GSA, I will be working on the Very Apt project and hope to learn more about how GSA supports, represents, and advocates for graduate students. I am especially interested in advocacy, policy, and supporting historically underserved communities.

Outside of school and work, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking and swimming around Lake Tahoe, working out, reading, coloring, and playing on my Nintendo Switch."
