Join us for our first Community Inspired Connections Workshop of the semester on Wednesday, September 16, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Learning & Resource Center (1st floor of the WRB).

Lynda Wiest, Ph.D., Professor of Mathematics Education and Educational Equity, will speak on the inclusion and support of LGBTQ+ students in K-12 schools.

This free workshop provides in-service credits and University professional learning hours. Educators, faculty, students and parents are invited to attend.

Meet our Reggio Emilia Faculty Leads: Kaitlyn Wright

Kaitlyn Wright is an academic advisor for the College of Education and Human Development. She has experience teaching both HDFS and ECE courses. She is passionate about preparing students with life skills outside of the classroom through innovative educational activities. In her free time she is a member of the first gen alumni chapter and enjoys traveling with her family.

The Downing Counseling Clinic will be offering walk-in counseling services this week for students, faculty, staff, and community members impacted by the Hawk Fire.

No appointment is needed, and individuals may walk in and speak with a counselor during clinic hours.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Location: University of Nevada, Reno, William J Raggio building, third floor
Parking: The Downing Counseling Clinic has one space available on the second floor of the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex, and you may park here. If that space is taken, call 775-682-5517 for additional parking options.

Jenna Dewar has taught at the University of Nevada, Reno since 2009, specializing in experiential and community-engaged learning. She first traveled to Italy as a student with USAC. Jenna is dedicated to creating inclusive environments that empower students and prepare them for meaningful personal and professional lives. Outside of academia, she enjoys skiing, yoga, and spending time with her family in Lake Tahoe.
