The University of Texas at Dallas hosted the inaugural Father Patrick Desbois Summer Academy on Genocide, Justice and Remembrance, bringing together graduate students, scholars and practitioners from around the world.
Presented by the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies and Yahad-In Unum and made possible by a $1 million endowment from the Edward and Wilhelmina Ackerman Foundation, the two-week academy explored mass violence, sites of remembrance and research methods including forensic investigation, testimonial research and digital humanities.
