Congratulations to Dr. Xinda Wang on receiving a prestigious NSF CAREER Award to advance vulnerability detection in open-source software.

Wang, an assistant professor of computer science at UT Dallas and director of the X Security (XSec) Lab, will use the award to develop new approaches for identifying security risks in open-source software and making vulnerability detection more practical and easier for developers to understand.

The project will also create research and educational opportunities for students at the K–12, undergraduate and graduate levels.

Throwing it back to the 2026 Solar Car Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway!

The Jonsson School was proud to sponsor this year’s competition, where 24 high school teams put their engineering skills to the test as they traveled more than 630 miles across Texas in solar-powered vehicles. Our Jonsson School Ambassadors were there to cheer on the teams and share how hands-on experiences like these can inspire the next generation of engineers and computer scientists.
