As a new academic year begins, we’re excited to welcome a new group of graduate students to UT Dallas Biological Sciences.

Their first days included much more than schedules and program information. Students met classmates, connected with faculty and graduate student leaders, learned about available resources and began building the relationships that help create a strong graduate community.

We look forward to watching these students learn, grow, conduct meaningful research and contribute to the Biological Sciences community in the years ahead.
Here’s to a great beginning. ☄️

Quantum ideas. Big questions. Good company. ⚛️
The Moiré Quantum Matter Workshop is bringing researchers together at the UT Dallas School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics for a day of learning, collaboration and, yes, a little showing off. 😉

From listening to experts and digging into the latest research to asking questions, sharing their own theories and catching up over food and breaks, attendees are doing what science does best: learning from one another and pushing ideas forward.
And with the 2026 Anson L. Clark Memorial Lecture featuring quantum engineering pioneer David Awschalom happening at NSM tonight, it’s a very quantum kind of day around here.

📸 A look inside the workshop—from the talks and questions to the conversations happening between them.
