Hop out of your desk today and put away that notebook!
Learning is hands on here at EKU! 🤓

Here is what that immersive experience looks like in action 💪:

💫 Here you can see Nora working on an interactive class activity, helping her to dive deeper into course material.
💫 NFA students have SO many field expereince oppurtunities to learn. Food production classes, conferences, and clinical shadowing are all apart of the experience!
💫 Students in the Communication Sciences and Disorders cohort enrolled in Dr. Adria Thompsons neuroanatomy class have the opportunity to visit the skills lab in order to do practice assessment and treatment of patients with various neurological impairments. Here you can see them working with a model, but they also get to study with AI-generated clients.

What are your faculty up to this summer? They stay busy! Let's check in with Dr. Gravil...

🌳🌲At the Bernheim Forest and Aboretum, Dr. Gravil facilitated a teacher training that was nature-focused. Early childhood educators learned how to implement two early childhood environmental education curricula. ☀️
Hope they leaf some fun for the rest of us, because that sounds like a blast! 🍂

There are so many exciting opportunities nestled in all of our programs here our college. Swipe to learn more! ➡

👄 The CSD Program not only allows for our students to work one on one with a client, but also allows for community members with a need to receive speech and language services for absolutely free! 💬🖤

🍽 Cafe Burrier is a public restaurant with a fixed menu that students run for one semester in their junior year with Chef Sang! (I hope they have the peach cobbler again this year 😋)🍴

🍎 Students in the school of education are placed with a mentor teacher at a local school where they can gain hands-on experience by teaching lessons, working with students, and building real classroom skills while completing your required hours. 🏫

Orientation might feel overwhelming—but here’s what it’s really like.

✨You get to explore campus from the student perspective while also meeting some familiar faces in your department!
✨You'll meet some really cool people, register for classes, or change your major. 🤜🏼🤛🏻
✨ Feel more at home and prepared for your first year as a colonel. 💫

Remember, everyone at orientation is new, just like you!
Just breathe, and know this -- I heard there's ice cream! 🍦
