Final day of competition and the final installment of our FSAE IC 2026 series! We finalized the livery on 03, tested our electrical setup, welded and finalized the shifter linkage tabs, as well as a few more final tweaks. We also spectated endurance and realized yes, wet tires ARE actually useful once in a blue moon. The team had an absolute blast, and our first experience was definitely unforgettable. We’ll be back even stronger next year with 04! Thanks everyone!

Day 2 of competition was definitely the busiest! We hit every static event, including tech, cost, and design! This day was chocked full of learning (some of it the hard way 😅) but we enjoyed it nonetheless! It was insane seeing every single team together for the group photo, but we can’t quite say 03 was looking too pretty for the photos (yet 😬). Day 3 coming at you next!

Day 1 recap of our first competition! 😳Everything was super new to us, but we knew we’d be coming in as learners and not as competitors. We were surprised to learn there was a free machine shop and welding tent right next to our paddock! We had alraedy planned to spend most of competition trying to finish as much of our car as possible, but this was an absolute game-changer.

Most of day 1 was spent working on the car— our goal was to go through all the static events like tech, cost, and design to see how they worked. It was absolutely awesome seeing all the other teams there, and plenty of industry professionals and other teams came by to give us advice as a first time team! While we didn’t make it to tech on Day 1, we were on a fantastic trajectory moving forward.

Your eyes do not deceive you, it’s finally time to recap our first competition experience in over 7 years! Follow along with us as we recap each day of competition, starting with Day 0. Normally, you wouldn’t assume the ride up to competition would be worth its own recap.

But this was no ordinary ride up… 😅

Goes to show how much more goes into FSAE than just driving a car fast! How many engineers does it take to swap a flat? How about 4 flats? Watch the video above to find out 😳

Ram Racing is finally back. Last week, we attended our first ever competition since before the pandemic. It hasn’t been an easy journey, but one of revival, learning, and growth. We’d like to give a huge thank you to everyone that supported us along this journey, whether you are a sponsor, alumni, or a fellow FSAE member just supporting our team!

We didn’t arrive this year aiming for first, but to learn as much as we could and set ourselves up properly for long term success, and we did exactly what we set out to do. While working around the clock to work on our car, every member worked like a sponge to absorb as much experience and wisdom from our fellow teams, judges, and sponsors to come back stronger than ever before. We’d like to give big sponsors to all the teams that came by and talked to us about their experiences, and to all the judges that bestowed as much of their wisdom as they could to us! We value it more than you could ever know, and will be sure to use it when we return to competition with a stronger VCU-04 😁

Keep your eyes peeled for a lot of recap content, including day-by-day vlogs, more photos, and more!
