We were saddened to hear of the recent death of Barbara Rider, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA. While Barbara was not officially associated with VCU OT, she was the long-time partner of Fred Sammons, PhD (Hon), OT, FAOTA, who was a VCU alum and great supporter of the OT Department. Fred passed away in November 2025. We fondly remember their visit in 2019, which was filled with stories and laughter.

The VCU OT department was thrilled to welcome occupational therapy practitioners to VCU and Prana OT this weekend for Module 6 of the CLASI CASI Certification Program!
It was a great 4 day intensive of hands-on learning, collaboration, and advancing clinical skills in Ayres Sensory Integration®. We loved having this incredible group learning together on our campus!
