Honors Postcards Wednesday takes us to continental Europe! Brady Fields and Brooke Boyer accompanied Dr. Liddell on the KIIS Italy program (and here’s Brady in Florence and Brooke in Rome). Megan had an Honors Odyssey Grant that allowed her to spend her summer studying at a university in Milan, Italy. Meanwhile, Paisley (also an Honors Odyssey Grant winner) spent her summer doing medical shadowing in Madrid Spain (and the photo here is of her in Toledo, Spain). Makiah studied this summer in Bregenz, Austria, and this photo is from her side trip across the border to visit Neuschwanstein castle “next door” in Germany. Finally, Carolina studied in Prague, Czechia, and this is a photo of her at the city’s magnificent and historic Spanish Synagogue.

Our annual EKU Honors Postcards series starts today! We are celebrating the 2026 summer study-travel experiences of many of our students from EKU Honors. We start today in East Asia, with Annamarie wearing traditional “hanbok” clothing in Seoul, Korea. Lynsey also studied in Seoul—and here she is at the city’s beautiful downtown Jogyesa temple. Sakura did the KIIS Japan+Korea program, and here she is at Nagoya Castle. More EKU Honors summer adventures to come all this week!

Our EKU Honors Launch 2026 third and final day was epic! We started with morning outdoor team-building at the low-ropes course. We spent the afternoon learning about travel opportunities in EKU Honors, honors seminars and curriculum, and opportunities for leadership and involvement on our campus. Evening brought our EKU Honors Launch closing banquet. Each table at the banquet was "hosted" by one of our amazing EKU Honors alumni, who shared words of wisdom and advice with our new students. Special thanks to our Honors Launch speaker, amazing EKU Hall of Distinguished Alumni member, EKU Foundation Board member, and longtime US State Department diplomat Dr. Deborah Alexander. And special thanks also to our amazing team of sophomore, junior, and senior current honors student "Peer Mentors" who guided our new students through the incredible three-day Honors Launch experience!

EKU Honors Launch 2026 Day Two (Monday) included the traditional morning group photo (in Honors Launch 2026 T-shirts) and a campus scavenger hunt. Then in the afternoon we had the students' SYKALA impromptu speeches (with a break time visit from the ice cream truck). Finally we closed the day by rocking O'Donnell Auditorium with our Song-and-Dance night with original performances by each of our student family groups!
