After eight years of transformative leadership, Susan T. Gooden will step down as dean of the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs on June 30.

During her tenure, the school strengthened its national profile, expanded research and student opportunities, and advanced social equity as a defining principle of public service.

As Governor L. Douglas Wilder noted, “Her tenure has advanced the school’s mission and affirmed its vital role in preparing leaders.”

We thank Dean Gooden for her leadership and lasting contributions to the Wilder School and the broader public service community.
