Hey guys,
The American Home - Американский дом, Vladimir, Russia, where I currently work, is looking for enthusiastic, creative and hardworking English teachers for their next year! You do not need any previous teaching experience to teach here or a particularly high level of Russian language as there is extensive orientation at the beginning of the year! As an English teacher you will:
get basic TEFL certification
experience lesson planning
experience running your own classroom for grammar and conversation classes (unlike Fullbright, YOU are the only teacher in the class and will be in charge of your own lessons)
conduct at least one lecture on American culture per semester
participate in parties and activities related to American holidays
lead other American cultural activities such as games, movies, and other creative events to your teaching
improve your own English grammar!
improve your Russian through free language classes (2, 1-on-1, 90 minute sessions per week) and daily interactions with the lovely Russian staff
work with the amazing Russian staff and have full support with classes, as well as anything from legal documentation, taxes, medical care, travel plans to finding an apartment
meet new Russian friends and have once-in-a-lifetime experiences that you can only get in Russia
live in the quaint and peaceful city of Vladimir, Russia! It is very easy to get around the city and teachers have the choice to live with either a host family or their own apartment (room and board is included in the teachers' salary and the American Home will help you find accommodation, as well as assist with any issues with landlords).
This is a great first job opportunity for those having just graduated or those who are looking for an awesome work/study abroad experience for a year! Teachers have the opportunity to stay for more years if they would like. I will be staying for a second year, along with two other teachers, and we all have absolutely loved working and living here.
If interested, applications are due March 1st and are located on the American site above! I have attached both the American and Russian site for reference. For additional information and questions you can contact me here or my email through [email protected]
