Drs. Yonella Demars and Elizabeth Edmondson (VCU School of Education) and their PATHS project team recently received the Programs that Work award from the Virginia Mathematics & Science Coalition. Through work on their NIH SEPA project titled Pathways for Authentic Teaching of Health Sciences, they were recognized for creating an effective student and teacher program that showed evidence of a positive impact on student and teacher learning.

Demars and her team will be working with a new set of K-12 teachers at their summer session scheduled to take place in the College of Health Professions July 7-9.

Students, alumni, current and former faculty, and long‑time friends of the program came together in Virginia Beach this week for the Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologists Conference. Our senior students represented VCU beautifully in the annual Student Bowl—competing with confidence and staying among the top contenders throughout the game.

We were also proud to see alumni and faculty shine. Travis Prowant delivered an engaging lecture on Level I trauma, Faculty Emeritus Mark Crosthwaite presented important updates in Nuclear Medicine and Dr. Parham was officially inducted as an officer of the Society.

Moments like these highlight the strength of our community and the importance of staying connected. Now more than ever, the VSRT needs your participation and support to protect RTs in Virginia. Join the Society to stay informed and involved in the ongoing fight to protect licensure in our state. https://vsrt.org
