What’s for dinner?

Hopefully not these chicken breasts 😂
Senior Nuclear Medicine students learn how to perform sentinel node and isosulfan blue dye injections with chicken breasts. Utilizing chicken breasts is a great way to see the subcutaneous injection and also appreciate the delicate nature of the skin of melanoma or breast injections.

Congratulations to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography for earning full re-accreditation for this abdominal and Ob/Gyn programs. A big thank you to program faculty Dr Demas and Mrs Pourteau for this achievement!.

Mrs. Adrienne Pourteau, Diagnostic Medical Sonography Clinical Coordinator and Vascular Instructor, represented CHP at this year’s Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) Annual Conference in National Harbor, Maryland under the conference theme “One Pulse, One Purpose.”

Mrs. Pourteau received the Excellence in Oral Presentation Award and the Best First Time Presenter Award for her case study “An Unusual Case of Post Traumatic Entrapment of the Popliteal Vessels in a Pediatric Patient”

The program hopes to usher in VCU Sonography student participation in future SVU conferences and initiatives in support of SVU and CHP’s aligned missions of advancing healthcare professions through excellence, mentorship, research, and outreach.

Pie Your Professor was a successful, and gloriously messy, hit!

Dr. Legg, Dr. P, Ms. J & Ms. B bravely took a few pies for the team and our students made every splat count!

Thanks to everyone who came out, laughed with us, and supported the students to raise money to attend the Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologists conference in April.

If seeing these professors get absolutely smacked with pies brought you joy, donate to our students' fundraiser here: https://give.vcu.edu/campaigns/62007/donations/new?a=10591995&designation_id=927c4a047e3340f68f48ee54c038ab13

Congratulations to our Radiography Seniors who delivered outstanding ASRT Category A CE case study presentations yesterday! Additionally, juniors, alumni, and former and current faculty filled the room with encouragement and conversation, making it a truly learning centered and community driven event. If you can name our Boy Band in the photos, there is some Rad Sci swag coming your way!

And because our students never stop, they also organized a fantastic Pie Your Professor fundraiser right after the presentations...photos are coming soon!

You can still support their goal of attending the Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologists Conference this spring by donating at the following link: https://give.vcu.edu/campaigns/62007/donations/new?a=10591995&designation_id=927c4a047e3340f68f48ee54c038ab13

Pie Your Professor is sliding onto the CHP lawn on July 22nd! Our Radiography students are whipping up this deliciously messy fundraiser to support their trip to the VSRT SET Seminar in April.

Got a friendly score to settle with one of your professors? Want to see your favorite faculty member take a whipped cream splat for a good cause?

Join us July 22nd from 3:30–4:30pm for an hour of laughter, flying pies, and CHP spirit. Pies are just $5 each, plus a little extra for the premium mix‑ins like sprinkles and chocolate syrup!

Can’t make it to the pie flinging festivities? No worries, you can still support our Radiography students as they gear up to participate in their local professional society. Scan the code below to donate, and we’ll reward your generosity with plenty of gloriously messy event photos.Think of it as supporting education and our profession....with whipped cream.
