VCU Staff Senate

VCU Staff Senate VCU Staff Senate is an organization of engaged and enthusiastic staff and team members from across the university’s diverse community.

The VCU Staff Senate provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and information among staff, administration and faculty of VCU and the VCU Health System and addresses concerns, issues and needs brought forward by the staff. We are committed to taking our place alongside faculty, administrators and students to enhance our university culture. Our main goals:
-To be a representative body for staff; e

ncourages staff to serve on university committees
-To provide a forum for the exchange of university information
-To provide referrals for staff questions or concerns; and
-To advocate for staff issues across the university including, but not limited to, professional development, shared university governance, and workplaces that foster a spirit of respect, dignity, unity and collaboration. Our interests and goals are as diverse as our membership. Senators serve on committees across both campuses with representatives from the student body, faculty and administration. Senators work towards achieving the goals and initiatives outlined the university’s strategic plan, Together We Transform.

We had a great time with hundreds of staff attending our on-line and in-person VCU Staff Senate Professional Development Conference last week! Our key note speaker Joshua P. While most faculty, Staff, and students get to go home for the winter break ... there are about 200 people that stay and serve our university community and keep our campus running and safe. Members of the Staff Senate Employee Appreciation Committee sent out a small gift of thanks to members of the VCU Police, Facilities, and Animal Resources for their dedication and service during the holidays. If you see members of those departments in the next couple weeks be sure to thank them.
